The Meaning of Mother’s Day Is In The Card

Mother and Daughter on Wedding Day

Before you pop over to your favorite happy hour spot after work for some pre-weekend fun this evening, don't forget to pick up your Mother’s Day card. Definitely look for a card with a sweet message inside, but your work is not done there.

Sorry friends, the Hallmark-scripted note inside isn’t enough. You need to craft a personal message to show your appreciation and gratitude. It’s the least we can do for our moms who gave so much to us, isn’t it?

It doesn’t have to take you hours to come up with the perfect paragraph, nor should it only take you two seconds.

This one tip will help you convey just how much your mom matters to you.

Write about one experience that you shared with your Mom over the last year. Where did you go? What did you do? How did spending time with your mom make you feel?

When I gave my Mom her gift this year — prose that radiated my heart and expressed my gratefulness — she gave me the best validation I could have ever imagined.

She said, “This is the best gift you could have given to me! Every mom wants to know what their child’s memories with their mom mean to them.”

You see, moms work hard to be the best they can be and they want to know that their efforts meant something to you.

Write words that matter this year. It'll mean so much to someone who would give the world for you.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!

XO,

Kristen
